about us

Lake Region Veterinary Center opened in 1967 under the direction of Dr. Ken Greiner. He operated out of a tiny office just off Main Street in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. He did mostly food-animal medicine and a little small animal care.

In 1974, he opened LRVC in its current location on the East side of Elbow Lake. Today we specialize in equine medicine and continue to service the food-animal industry and small animals have become a major focus of our practice.

In 1997, we added on to the equine center to include a state-of-the-art surgical suite and additional stalls. Also, in 1997 Dr. Greiner’s daughter, Dr. Kendra Greiner, joined Lake Region Veterinary Center. She is our full-time small animal veterinarian.

Dr. Alan Sletten joined the practice in 1989 and specializes in livestock medicine. In 2004, Dr. Kathy Seifert joined LRVC and specializes in equine medicine.  Dr. Fonda Galbreath joined the team in 2009 and provides large and small animal veterinary care.

Over the past decade we have continued to increase our offering of complementary and alternative veterinary medicine, including veterinary chiropractic therapy,
acupuncture and shockwave therapy.

Our most recent addition is our northern office in Crosby, Minnesota. Construction was completed in August 2005.
