Dairy Vaccination Schedule
(Minimum recommended)

At Birth:

A. Colostrum - 2 to 3 quarts at birth then 2-3 quarts 6 to 10 hours later.
B. Optional vaccines (use if there are problems)

  1. E.coli
  2. Rota/Corona Virus
  3. Intra-nasal IBR

Heifers:

A. 3 months old:

  1. Modified live 9-way (BVD, IBR, PI3, BRSV, 5 lepto)
  2. Clostridium 7-way

B. 4 months old:

  1. Modified live 9-way
  2. Clostridium 7-way

C. Prebreeding (9-10 months old)

  1. Modified live 9-way
  2. Clostridium 7-way

Cows:

A. Cows 2 weeks before dry and Heifers 8 weeks before calving

  1. Clostridium 7-way
  2. J-5

B. Cows at Dry Off and Heifers 6 weeks before calving

  1. J-5
  2. Killed 9-way (if pneumonias are a problem)
  3. Scourguard 3KC (heifers only

C. Pre-fresh (3 weeks before calving)

  1. J-5
  2. Scourguard 3KC

D. 30-40 days after Fresh

  1. Modified live 9-way

Purchased animals:

A. Ideally three weeks before arrival

  1. Intranasal IBR
  2. Modified live 9-way (killed 9-way if pregnant)
  3. Clostridium 7-way

B. On arrival (one week later)

  1. Modified live 9-way (killed 9-way if pregnant)
  2. Clostridium 7-way
If no vaccines were given before arrival, booster about 4 weeks after arrival.

Optional cattle vaccines (Use if there is a problem):

  1. Pasturella
  2. Hemophilus somnus
  3. Intranasal IBR
  4. Lepto harjo bovis
  5. Mycoplasma
  6. Salmonella
  7. Hairy wart - Foot rot
